Adopt – A – Tree campaign was launched by the MG Group of Companies as a CSR initiative.

With a hope for a greener future, MG Group of Companies initiated the ‘Adopt a Tree Campaign’—to highlight the importance of trees and forests as a country working towards sustainable development. This campaign aims to contribute to a greener Sri Lanka and a sustainable future by inspiring people to plant more trees and seek more ways to make a positive difference to the environment.

In recent times, the rapidly declining global forest cover and natural resources has prompted an urgent demand for green concepts and awareness projects worldwide. Several programmes in Sri Lanka too have shown keen interest in contributing to this global initiative. Thus, MG Group of Companies, following suit in creating a positive green change to the city of Gampaha, in collaboration with the Urban Development Authority of Gampaha and the Municipal Council, launched a campaign to plant trees along the Gampaha-Colombo road in order to beautify and enhance the concept of Green & Smart in the city alongside their founding project Gampaha SMART city concept launched by the team.

The campaign which was launched on the 09th of March 2022, was attended by the Mayor of Gampaha, Mr. Eranga Senanayake, the Gampaha Police, Road Development Authority, Divisional Secretariat and the Upper management of MG Group of Companies. A small step towards a green future, and a benchmark for future green cities! The event was a success, marking the first of many similar initiatives in the upcoming future.
